first day of classes!

Hurray for first days! well, this one didn't go *Quite* as expected.

I got to class on time and all, that was fine. It was the part where Bob and Jim started talking about how the schedule was "Completely wrong" that got me worried.

Basically, the "Amazing" software the college uses for online registration decided that the one schedule the teachers created was not right, and it needed to be broken up into two possible schedules. This resulted in teachers and students being double booked, classes being set up at times where the teachers weren't going to be around, and all kinds of great goodies like that.

To top it off, since the admin staff are on strike, the online schedules will not be corrected for a while yet (AKA when the strike is over.)

Luckily, we were able to get the new schedule off of Rod, the new program coordinator. Not nearly as pretty as my original schedule...sigh.

Although, now I get to sleep in on 3 out of 5 days :-D but then again, I'm in class till later on most days D-:

hooray for first day technical difficulties!! maybe tomorrow will be better... 

School part II: The Return

Alright, so, it's about a week before classes start up and I am ready to go! can't wait! although, apparently the support staff for the college have all gone on strike. hurray.

So what does this mean for me? I have no idea at this point. Trying to find out more info is like trying to pull teeth. Seems like everything should continue as normal...but I have my doubts. At least it's not the faculty on strike, so classes will continue as usual.

I'll update more once more info is released.

Pain in the arse!

so, just finished my surgery to rid myself of the evil cyst. Talk about a pain in the arse. hard to walk with the giand bandage and every step, if I step too far pulls at the sore area. Really annoying to get up when I have to go to the bathroom. yay bed-riddenness.



well, it's just the first day. only a matter of time for it to start getting better. guess I'll go get some sleep now, have fun folks! I'm sure I'll post something else later on!

Mark correction!

alright, so I have finally worked out the issue with my Ethics mark! I have gotten an 87 for that class! So that brings my over all average up to 83, hurrah!

alright, so after the amazing Video Games Live, I did finally get my marks in! Some were a little disappointing (still fighting my Ethics mark) but over all another good semester.
average of 81.75, but like I said still fighting that ethics mark!

Frogger!!

So, one thing they do at Video Games Live is invite 2 random people on stage to compete at a timed game of Frogger. a minute and a half to post the best score to win the top prize. I was miraculously selected to compete! The person who was chosen to compete against me tried to tear down several parts of the stage/lighting...and frightened one person enough that he bolted out of his seat! the guy, whom I have dubbed "flounder" was walking along a precarious ledge, started falling, so to save himself grabbed the BUNDLE OF WIRES LEADING TO THE LIGHTS hanging about 3 stories above the crowd. Then proceeded to hang of said bundle of lights for about 30 seconds. I thought people were going to die. Then flounder bulldozed his way onto stage jumping on top of speakers, getting tangled in more wires and lights, then almost taking out one of the projectors. I decided if I didn't beat this guy, I would hand in me Nerd card right there. This was our battle:

Video Games Live!

So Ken is awesome and took me to Video Games Live! It was fantastic! They played songs from everything, from Halo to WoW, to Castlevania! The Winnipeg Symphony was great at playing simple pieces like Mega Man, and making them even more epic or taking Final Fantasy and having it sound even better than the game versions! Here's a few pics of some goings on there!

More grades!

Well, I recently got more grades back. My first graphics communication drawing this semester worth 20% I got an A+ (don't know what the exact score is, Bob doesnt give that info...but A+ is in the 90% range) also got my first graphics communication test back, which I got a 67....out of 72, so 93% :-) Today got back my test for CATIA and I scored a 95% on that. so yeah, so far I'm doin really well. Although the next couple weeks there are more major assignments due and should be getting more marks in. Will let you know how I do!

first ethics test

just got my mark back for my first ethics test. Got an 88! so yea, pretty happy with that! Other than that...not much new as far as school stuff. Lots of studying and working on assignments, it's getting close to that 1/2 way mark so should be getting more marks in within the next few weeks. Will let you all know how it goes!

Good news everyone!

So, all those drawings I did for CATIA that I posted earlier, well, I finally got my mark back for the work I put into them. I got a 90%, so I am very happy with that! Also, on top of that, I got my mark back for my first statics test. I got a 95%! I knew I had done well, but I was still kind of second guessing myself afterwards. But I did it, and I couldn't be happier with my marks! so yea, things are going stellar so far!

Well, just finished tidying up the rest of my Catia drawings and I figured I may as well show em off! so yeah, as you can see, some of the pictures I was showing off changing what materials they are made of.

First Math Test

well, got my results for my first math test back. Not quite what I thought I'd get, only managed to get a 70% on it. Although looking through the test, all of the mistakes were typical stupid mistakes. Which I thought I had fixed...went through the test twice after finishing. But 70% is not too difficult to climb into the 80's from, so I am confident that I will be able to salvage this yet.

birthday!

Hurrah, my birthday! well, a year older and maybe I'm starten to get some of that "wiser" stuff people are talkin about...maybe. Got some fancy new shoes so when I go to the gym I'll have somethin proper to wear, got some new jeans (shnazzy) and got a Kindle ebook reader which I've been playing with all day! also got a case for the kindle but it won't be in for a little while. Over all it's been a great day! and thanks to everyone who wished me a happy b-day, everyone loves me!

Another something new!

alright, so I know most of you aren't going to believe this. Most of you will say "pffft, yea right" but I started going to the gym. Went for the first time today for about an hour and a half. Me and about 5 or 6 other guys from Aerospace go and help each other out. So this is just the start but I plan on keeping this up along side studying so I will get in shape at the same time as learning. And yes Mom, I know, school comes first. Of course. Thats the best part of going with guys from the same program because we can work out and still talk about what we are studying. So it's kinda win-win!

Well, I waited a day to post this since I wanted Ken and Shavon to be able to tell everyone themselves and I figured if they didn't tell you in 24hrs, then you can hear it from me! I'm gonna be an Uncle! Huge congrats to my bro and sis, I am so happy for you guys! I am very ecstatic this is amazingly wonderful news! I can't wait to meet the new little Bauer! Well, my big news is actually someone else's news, but I am really excited! Anyways, Gratz again!

Just some of the things I have started making in Catia, the 3D design program we're learning. Now, keep in mind, I've only had 1 class with this and these are kinda the most basic things we will be doing, and some of these I'm not sure if I did them correctly or not but they all turned out pretty well I think.
